Roadworks information disclaimer

Notices of works on the public highway in East Sussex are displayed here, including major and minor roadworks. Information is provided by utility companies and highways authorities. For more information about works, please contact either the relevant utility company carrying out the works or email us selecting 'Roadworks' from the drop down menu.

Location of roadworks

Roadworks symbols are located in the middle of a street unless a map reference is provided. We are required to provide locations by reference to street names (exact map reference locations are optional). New regulations are planned to make the provision of map co-ordinates mandatory during 2005/6. Map locations of particular roadworks should therefore be treated as approximate.

Information provided

Utility companies are required to provide notice of any works on the public highway to the local highway authority before work begins. The data provided by this website is updated every 15 minutes during office hours. However, emergency roadworks can start before notice is given and in some cases, planned roadworks are abandoned before they start.

While every effort is made to ensure that the information displayed is accurate and correct at time of publication, East Sussex County Council takes no responsibility for any inaccurate or incorrect information. For more information about works, please contact either the relevant utility company carrying out the works or email us selecting 'Roadworks' from the drop down menu.
